Sugar Co. Says CEO's Wife Can't Snatch Stocks

Law360, New York (October 25, 2013, 5:27 PM EDT) -- U.S. Sugar Co. Inc. took aim Wednesday at the soon-to-be ex-wife of the sugar processing company’s CEO, filing a lawsuit alleging she has no right to snap up any of her husband’s company shares through divorce proceedings.

USSC filed a complaint in Connecticut federal court against CEO and President William McDaniel’s wife Judith McDaniel, arguing against the future divorcee’s claim that through her marriage and through loans made to the company she had earned a direct equitable shareholder interest.
