Fla. AG Wants State Justices' Take On Medical Pot Proposal

Law360, New York (October 24, 2013, 6:35 PM EDT) -- The Florida attorney general on Thursday petitioned the state Supreme Court for an advisory opinion on the validity of a proposed constitutional amendment regarding medical marijuana, saying the proposal is misleading and contradicts federal law.

Attorney General Pam Bondi argued in her letter to the state’s high court that People United for Medical Marijuana — the organization that submitted the proposal in September — obscured the nature and scope of marijuana use the amendment would allow, which she said is the proposal’s most fundamental underlying issue....
