ITC To Probe Medical Device Patent Infringement Claims

Law360 (December 21, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into a Canadian company’s possible infringement of patents held by medical device maker Varian Medical Systems.

California-based Varian, along with French company Sas Praxim, alleges that in importing its ultrasound equipment into the U.S., Resonant Medical Inc. is infringing its patents covering patient positioning systems.

Resonant denied the claims that its products infringe Varian patents.
