Medicare Premium Costs To Stay Flat In 2014

Law360, New York (October 28, 2013, 7:20 PM EDT) -- Medicare premiums will remain unchanged next year, the Obama administration said Monday, the latest evidence that the nation's slowdown in health care spending is being sustained and a potential sign of cost savings under the Affordable Care Act.

The roughly $105 monthly premium is the same as what people paid this year and is actually about $5 less than what beneficiaries shelled out when the ACA passed in 2010. Federal regulators credited ACA provisions that tie reimbursement to quality of care and attempt to curb overbilling...
