Medicare Chief Pushes Back On GOP's Health Exchange Jabs

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 2:10 PM EDT) -- Medicare chief Marilyn Tavenner on Tuesday became the first Obama administration official to testify before Congress about the Affordable Care Act’s bungled rollout, admitting shortcomings with online insurance marketplaces but otherwise giving little ground as Republicans sought to sow further doubts about the law.

Appearing before the House Ways and Means Committee, Tavenner recognized the slow start for but also emphasized steady improvement that generally has made the site speedier and more reliable even as conspicuous flaws remain.
