Jury Rejects Avery's Patent Challenge Against 3M

Law360, New York (December 22, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Following a four-year skirmish, a patent held by 3M Co. was found to be valid in federal court after being challenged by a competitor.

3M’s wholly owned subsidiary, 3M Innovative Properties Co., won the favorable verdict in the patent infringement case in the U.S. District Court in Minnesota, where 3M sued Avery Dennison Corp. in September 2001.
