Icahn-Led CVR Sues Wachtell Over Role In $2.6B Takeover

Law360, New York (October 28, 2013, 6:01 PM EDT) -- CVR Energy Inc., controlled by Carl Icahn, hit Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz and two of its partners with a malpractice suit in Kansas federal court on Thursday in connection with the firm's work in fending off the billionaire investor's $2.6 billion takeover bid for the Texas-based refiner last year.

The suit accuses Wachtell and corporate partners Andrew R. Brownstein and Benjamin M. Roth of failing to advise CVR that if Icahn gained control of the company it would owe financial advisers Deutsche Bank Securities Inc....
