HHS To Finalize ACA Exchange Financial Oversight Standards

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 8:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will issue its final rule Wednesday laying out certain oversight requirements for insurers participating in health insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.

In a final rule to be published in the Federal Register Wednesday, the department said that insurers issuing qualified health plans in federally facilitated exchanges will have to maintain detailed financial records for roughly 10 years in order to participate in audits and show they can endure any potential financial losses.
