IFC Issues Enviro Report For $344M Pakistan Hydro Plant

Law360, Los Angeles (October 30, 2013, 8:22 PM EDT) -- The International Finance Corp. issued on Wednesday an early disclosure and a draft Environmental and Social Impact Assessment on behalf of Mira Power Ltd., for the special-purpose vehicle’s $344 million construction of a 100-megawatt, run-of-the-river hydropower plant in Pakistan.

The disclosure, released to enhance the transparency of IFC’s activities on projects with potentially significant adverse environmental and social risks and impacts, is for the Gulpur Hydropower Project, which is owned by Mira Power, an independent power producer that is developing the project in the private sector...
