Sierra Club Sues Wellington Over Pa. Power Plant

Law360, New York (February 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A coalition of environmental groups has filed suit against a West Virginia company that plans to build a coal-fired power plant in southwestern Pennsylvania. The firm’s construction permit has expired, and the company should be required to meet current legal standards for emissions, the groups claim.

The Sierra Club, the National Parks Conservation Association, Group Against Smog and Pollution, and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation filed the suit Wednesday against Wellington Development LLC in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
