Prominent CFTC Commissioner Chilton To Step Down

Law360, New York (November 5, 2013, 1:17 PM EST) -- Democratic Commissioner Bart Chilton of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Tuesday he plans to step down "in the near future," marking yet another high-profile departure for the beleaguered regulator.

Chilton, a colorful, media-friendly official who has been at the CFTC since 2007, made the announcement during a meeting at which the agency approved a proposal to limit the number of speculative positions traders may hold in certain derivatives.
