Iowa Telemedicine Abortion Ban Delayed By Judge

Law360, New York (November 5, 2013, 5:29 PM EST) -- An Iowa state judge handed Planned Parenthood a victory on Tuesday by delaying implementation of a rule that would prohibit physicians in the state from using a videoconferencing system to distribute abortion-inducing pills.

In August, the Iowa Board of Medicine approved a rule, set to go into effect Nov. 6, establishing the standards of practice for physicians who prescribe or administer abortion-inducing drugs.
