Maryland Sues Over $386M In Customer Credits

Law360, New York (February 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Maryland's attorney general is suing Constellation Energy Group and two of its subsidiaries, attempting to force the company to credit Maryland Energy customers as much as $386 million over the next 10 years.

Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler filed the suit Friday in Baltimore City Circuit Court against Constellation, Baltimore Gas and Electric and Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant.

Gansler's office seeks a ruling that a law approved by the Maryland General Assembly in 2006, requiring the company to credit BGE customers, was in fact constitutional....
