Centrica Inks $7B Qatar LNG Supply Deal

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 12:24 PM EST) -- British energy powerhouse Centrica PLC said Wednesday that it has inked a £4.4 billion ($7 billion) 4 1/2-year supply deal with state-owned Qatargas Operating Co. Ltd. to import up to 3 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas.

Centrica, the parent company of utility British Gas, said the deal builds on an existing supply agreement it inked with Qatar in 2011 and will go into effect when the previous deal expires in June 2014. The deal could provide gas to meet approximately 13 percent of U.K....
