Nestle Trims Fat With Sale Of Jenny Craig To PE Firm

Law360, New York (November 7, 2013, 1:26 PM EST) -- Nestle SA announced Thursday it will sell off the majority of its weight management program Jenny Craig to the health-focused private equity firm North Castle Partners, only a month after Nestle told investors it would begin divesting underperforming brands.

The terms of the transaction, which excludes the French brand of Jenny Craig, were not disclosed, however media reports estimate the deal at about $500 million, which is $100 million less than Nestle paid for the weight management program in 2006.
