Fla. Court Shields Forum Clauses In Surplus Lines Policies

Law360, New York (November 7, 2013, 7:52 PM EST) -- A Florida appeals court refused Wednesday to adopt a blanket rule that would have invalidated forum selection clauses in surplus lines policies issued to Florida policyholders, handing a win to Illinois Union Insurance Co. in a fight with a gas station owner over the proper venue for a coverage fight over a cleanup.
