2 Md. Firms Tapped For 3 Ethiopian Solar Power Plants

Law360, New York (November 8, 2013, 2:22 PM EST) -- Two Maryland companies won a contract from Ethiopia's government and its utility corporation to build and operate three solar power plants in the East African country for an undisclosed amount, the companies Global Trade and Development Consulting and Energy Ventures said Friday. 

Each plant will generate 100 megawatts when finished, for a combined output of 300 megawatts. The Ethiopian Ministry of Water and Energy already factored the future power plants into its long term utility projections and expects them to create 2,000 construction jobs and hundreds...
