Sea Scooter Maker Infringed Sea-Doo Patent, Jury Rules

Law360, Los Angeles (November 12, 2013, 7:22 PM EST) -- A California federal jury decided Friday that Green Max Distributors Inc., which sells Chinese products to U.S. retail stores, willfully infringed a utility patent owned by Sea-Doo Seascooter manufacturer Hydrodynamic Industrial Co. Ltd., attorneys for both parties told Law360.

The jury said it believed the patent, titled "Underwater Motive Device," was not invalid in terms of obviousness and anticipation, although a judge still has to decide on that issue, according to plaintiff's and defendant's counsel.
