Mexico-Based Alfa Lobs $908M Bid For Meat Co. Campofrio

Law360, New York (November 14, 2013, 2:40 PM EST) -- The refrigerated foods subsidiary of Mexico-based Alfa S.A.B de C.V. has offered €675 million ($908 million) to buy all shares of processed meats company Campofrio Food Group S.A., in a push to expand its reach into Europe, according to a Thursday statement.

In the all-cash deal, which is pending approval by Mexico’s securities regulatory authority, Sigma Alimentos S.A. de C.V. offers to pay €6.80 per share, which represents an 18.7 percent premium over the 45-day volume weighted average trading price of Campofrio as of Wednesday’s closing,...
