Liechtenstein To Join OECD Tax Info Treaty

Law360, New York (November 14, 2013, 1:15 PM EST) -- Liechtenstein will soon join the ranks of 61 other nations that have signed an Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development information-sharing agreement that aims to thwart tax evasion by creating a worldwide, automatic exchange, the country said Thursday.

The tiny nation, which has long been regarded as a tax haven, is set to shed that image when it signs the Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters at an upcoming OECD tax forum on Nov. 21 and 22 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
