Obama Names ACA Supporter As Surgeon General

Law360, New York (November 15, 2013, 2:37 PM EST) -- President Obama on Thursday nominated Vivek Murthy, an early supporter of both his first presidential campaign and the drive to reform the country’s health care system, as surgeon general.

Murthy, a doctor at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and an instructor at Harvard Medical School, was a member of Doctors for Obama, which worked for the president’s election in 2008.
