Regulators Step Up FCPA Enforcement: Report

Law360, New York (March 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- As more companies look to expand their global reach, federal regulators have stepped up their enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, according to a new survey compiled by Shearman & Sterling.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission have both increased their scrutiny of companies operating in foreign countries and have begun filing both civil and criminal suits alleging violations of the FCPA.
