Nampak Grows With $301M Nigerian Can Manufacturer Buy

Law360, New York (November 18, 2013, 4:56 PM EST) -- Packing company Nampak Ltd. will pay $301 million to pick up can manufacturer Alucan Packaging Ltd., a move that further expands the South African company's role in Nigeria's strong economy, according to a Monday statement.

The deal, which will be funded through cash reserves and debt facilities, also allows Nampak to acquire an unnamed rigid plastics company in Nigeria.

Nampak CEO Andrew Marshall said the continued growth in the West African country highlights the company's efforts to develop assets throughout the continent and boost annual revenue....
