Law Firm Merger Fever Continues With 2 Midwest Tie-Ups

Law360, New York (November 19, 2013, 4:46 PM EST) -- Ohio-centric Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP will absorb Chicago's Shefsky & Froelich to create a broader Midwest regional force in eight cities, the firms announced Tuesday, days after the marriage of two smaller firms in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The Taft-Shefsky merger, set to go live on Jan. 2, comes after nearly two years of discussions between Taft and a number of other partnerships, and amid a flurry of industry mergers this year.
