TransCanada Boosts Keystone XL Price Tag To $5.4B

Law360, New York (November 19, 2013, 5:41 PM EST) -- TransCanada Corp. on Tuesday upped the price tag of its controversial Keystone XL pipeline to at least $5.4 billion — a $100 million increase over the company's previous estimate — and said that number would likely continue to increase.

The Canadian energy giant revealed the price hike at its annual investor day, but reiterated that the pipeline would be fully up and running approximately two years after receiving a presidential permit from the U.S. Department of State.
