ADB Gives $240M Loan To China Wastewater Treatment Co.

Law360, New York (November 20, 2013, 4:23 PM EST) -- The Asian Development Bank will give a $240 million loan to water infrastructure operator Beijing Enterprises Water Group Ltd., to improve wastewater treatment in China, the bank said on Wednesday.

The funding is supposed to increase China's wastewater treatment capacity by 600 million tons per year by 2019, the bank said. This, in turn, should relieve water shortages throughout hundreds of Chinese cities affected by industrial water pollution and insufficient rainfall.
