Kuraray Will Pay $543M For DuPont Polymers Unit

Law360, New York (November 21, 2013, 6:20 PM EST) -- Global specialty chemical company Kuraray will acquire a laminating and vinyls segment of DuPont Co.’s Packaging & Industrial Polymers for $543 million plus the value of inventory, the companies said Thursday.

DuPont’s GLS/Vinyls team is a supplier of polyvinyl butyral and ionomer sheets, which are used to manufacture safety glass, as well as acetate monomer and polyvinyl alcohol products used in a variety of architectural, automotive and industrial applications, according to a statement.
