China Blamed For Delay In WTO Talks On Tech Products

Law360, New York (November 22, 2013, 4:10 PM EST) -- Negotiations among dozens of World Trade Organization countries looking to reduce tariffs on information technology products were suspended Thursday, with the U.S., the European Union and several others pinning blame for the breakdown on China.

In a statement on Thursday, a U.S. official confirmed that negotiations to expand the WTO Information Technology Agreement — a pact that has been signed onto by 78 members of the WTO and removed tariffs on a host of technology products — had been suspended.
