IBM-Telelogic Deal Poses No Antitrust Threat: EU

Law360, New York (March 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has approved IBM's $745 million proposal to acquire Swedish software company Telelogic, finding that the two firms' products do not directly compete, the agency announced Wednesday.

After a months-long investigation, the commission said it had determined that while both companies make tools for software development, they serve different customers and different needs and therefore do not pose a significant threat to competition in the European Economic Area.
