OECD Continues Push Toward E-Commerce Tax Rules

Law360, New York (November 22, 2013, 4:00 PM EST) -- Continuing its push to modernize global tax laws, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on Friday asked for comment on how governments can effectively tax international e-commerce.

The OECD requested information on how it can reform national tax laws to remedy problems limiting governments' ability to tax the digital economy. Addressing challenges associated with e-commerce is one of 15 actions the OECD intends to take to combat multinational corporations' ability to circumvent international taxation.
