Obama Extends ACA Signup Deadline By 8 Days

Law360, Los Angeles (November 22, 2013, 7:47 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said Friday that consumers will have an additional eight days to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act before coverage goes into effect Jan. 1.

The shift of the enrollment deadline from Dec. 15 to Dec. 23 signals another attempt by the Obama administration to modify the previously announced terms of the plan amid widespread criticism over lagging problems with the ACA's website, HealthCare.gov.
