Duke Energy Plans 30-MW Solar Construction In NC

Law360, New York (November 25, 2013, 2:37 PM EST) -- Duke Energy Inc. said Monday that its renewable energy arm is building three solar plants in eastern North Carolina that will generate a combined 30 megawatts of electricity, enough to power approximately 6,000 homes.

Duke Energy Renewables said it's tapped North Carolina solar construction firm SunEnergy1 to build a 20-megawatt plant in North Carolina's Halifax County and two 5-megawatt plants in Bertie and Pitt counties, respectively.

The projects are expected to be completed by year's end and will sell their power long-term, fixed-price contracts, Duke said....
