Wittig Sues Westar For Unpaid Criminal Defense Fees

Law360, New York (March 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- David Wittig, the former Westar Energy Inc. chief executive, has reportedly sued the utility company in a Kansas state court over its ongoing failure to pay the mounting legal fees in his federal criminal case.

Wittig filed the suit in Topeka's Shawnee County District Court, accusing Westar Energy Inc. of willfully ignoring a court requirement that it pay his fees, according to the Kansas City Star.
