Repsol, Argentina Strike Initial Deal Over YPF Takeover

Law360, Los Angeles (November 25, 2013, 9:00 PM EST) -- Spain's Repsol SA is set to consider a tentative deal with Argentina to receive compensation for the country's nationalization last year of its controlling stake in oil company YPF SA, the parties said Monday. 

The agreement emerged during a meeting Monday in Buenos Aires that included Argentine Economy Minister Axel Kicillof and Spanish Industry Minister Jose Manuel Soria, as well as executives of Repsol, YPF and YPF shareholder Pemex, according to statements from the parties.
