High Court Sends Ford's $445M Tax Case Back To 6th Circ.

Law360, New York (December 2, 2013, 1:53 PM EST) -- The Sixth Circuit must sort out jurisdictional arguments in a $445 million tax dispute between Ford Motor Co. and the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Supreme Court said Monday in a summary ruling.

In a three-page unsigned opinion, the court found the Sixth Circuit must take a second look at whether the Court of Federal Claims or regular federal court has jurisdiction over disputes surrounding the overpayment of taxes and when interest begins to accrue.
