EIB Loans $271M To Enel Green For Romanian Wind Farms

Law360, New York (December 2, 2013, 5:29 PM EST) -- The European Investment Bank will loan €200 million ($271 million) to renewables developer Enel Green Power Group to partly finance wind farms throughout Romania, the company said Monday.

Despite being a recent European Union member state and having almost no wind power prior to 2008, Romania is in seventh place for the amount of wind generation installed: 1,906 megawatts as of the end of 2012, driven by generous subsidies, according to the European Wind Energy Association.
