UK Expects $65B In Renewable Investments By 2020

Law360, New York (December 4, 2013, 2:04 PM EST) -- The U.K. government said Tuesday that it will invest £40 billion ($65 billion) in the renewables sector by 2020 to replace 10 percent of its total power generation and reshuffle its subsidies to favor more offshore projects.

The country is on track to produce 30 percent of its energy from renewables by 2020, up from about 15 percent today, according to the U.K. Department of Energy and Climate Change.
