Law360, New York (December 4, 2013, 1:24 PM EST) -- Any deal ultimately reached by Congress to replace sequester cuts should steer clear of clever tax gimmicks designed to fool the public by taking advantage of the Congressional Budget Office, a federal watchdog urged Wednesday.

The bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget report said Congress often takes advantage of the CBO's budget evaluation process, which only measures the effect of a particular legislative proposal for 10 years.
