Miami Suburb Hit With 2nd Racial Profiling Suit In 2 Weeks

Law360, Miami (December 6, 2013, 4:47 PM EST) -- The South Florida city of Miami Gardens and its police on Tuesday were hit with their second lawsuit in as many weeks in state court alleging policies of racial profiling and abusive practices by its officers.

In the latest case, resident Michael Asia filed claims of negligence, excessive force and one for the “city's custom/policy of use of excessive force and racial profiling.” He is seeking damages following an incident in which he claims he was beaten by two officers while in police custody.
