Entergy To Supply Power For $7B Petrochemical Project

Law360, New York (December 10, 2013, 1:29 PM EST) -- Entergy Gulf States Louisiana LLC clinched a six-year agreement with a subsidiary of South Africa-based Sasol Ltd. to supply up to 200 megawatts of power to run Sasol’s planned $7 billion petrochemical project in Louisiana, according to a Monday statement.

Sasol North America Inc.’s ethane cracker and derivatives project near Westlake, La., is expected to be completed in mid-2015 and fully operational in 2017, according to a statement. The Sasol facility is expected to produce 1.5 million tons per year of ethylene.
