Wachovia Settles With Ex-Analyst In Conflict Case

Law360, New York (January 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former research analyst for Wachovia Corp., who asserted last year that the investment bank had fired him because of his refusal to certify that his pay was unaffected by his investment recommendations, has reached a settlement with the bank over a complaint he filed with the Department of Labor.

Arturo Cifuentes, a former fixed income research analyst for Wachovia, was fired last April after allegedly refusing to state that his year-end bonus was not based on the recommendations he issued.
