Chile's AES Gener Scores $1.2B Loan For Hydro Project

Law360, New York (December 11, 2013, 2:41 PM EST) -- AES Gener SA has obtained a $1.2 billion loan from a banking consortium toward financing its $2 billion Alto Maipo hydroelectric project, the company said in a letter to Chile's securities regulators on Wednesday.

Under the plan, the power stations will be located in the upper section of the Maipo River, about 50 kilometers southeast of Santiago, Chile, with a total installed capacity of 531 megawatts.
