FERC OKs Settlement For Dakotas Wind Power

Law360, New York (March 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission removed a major hurdle to a proposed 180-megawatt wind power project in the Dakotas with its approval Wednesday of a settlement that allows Northern States Power Co. to serve as the project's temporary balancing authority.

Under the settlement, Tatanka Wind Power LLC, the project's proposed operator, will enter into a market interface integration services agreement with NSP that obligates the latter company to serve as the project's balancing authority until Dec. 31, 2009 or until Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator Inc....
