India Tops U.S. List Of Skilled-Work Visa Recipients

Law360, New York (March 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Most special U.S. visas for highly skilled workers from other countries are reportedly issued to Indian outsourcers, according to data from U.S. immigration officials.

Of the 65,000 H-1B visas issued in 2007, 4,559 were issued to Infosys Technologies and 2,567 to Wipro, BusinessWeek reported, citing data from U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services. Both Infosys and Wipro are based in Bangalore, India.
