CSPC, Vietnam Agree To Closer Scrutiny Of Imports

Law360, New York (March 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Seeking to rehabilitate its tarnished image, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has reached an agreement with the Vietnamese government to tighten oversight of items imported from Vietnam to the United States.

The agency disclosed the agreement Friday as CPSC officials met with representatives of the Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ) in Hanoi prior to conducting product safety training for Vietnamese exporters.
