House To Mull New Business Tax Credit For Veterans

Law360, New York (December 17, 2013, 2:53 PM EST) -- Military veterans would be eligible for a new tax credit designed to offset a portion of the costs associated with starting a new franchise business under legislation introduced Monday by a bipartisan group of lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The bill would establish a tax credit for former military personnel equal to 25 percent of the franchise fee associated with starting a new business. The credit will make it easier for military veterans transitioning into private employment to open their own small business, said...
