US To Meet With Philippines About Joining TPP, Kerry Says

Law360, New York (December 17, 2013, 4:07 PM EST) -- The Philippines will meet with U.S. officials in January to discuss a possible entry into the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, which includes several intellectual property provisions, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Tuesday during a trip to the Southeast Asian nation.

Speaking at the American Chamber of Commerce in Manila, Kerry said the Obama administration would host Philippine officials in Washington, D.C., early next year to discuss what it would take for the Philippines to get in on the TPP, a proposed trade agreement...
