Longview Power Gets Nod For Ch. 11 Disclosure Statement

Law360, Wilmington (December 18, 2013, 9:24 PM EST) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge gave his blessing to Longview Power LLC's Chapter 11 disclosure statement Wednesday, allowing the coal plant operator to start soliciting votes for a restructuring plan that would trim more than $1 billion in debt from its books.

At a hearing in Wilmington, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Brendan L. Shannon agreed to sign off on the disclosure statement, finding it contained “adequate information to inform a hypothetical creditor” about Longview's proposed reorganization.
