Travelers Drops Suit Against Reinsurer Over LeBoeuf Claims

Law360, New York (December 19, 2013, 6:30 PM EST) -- Travelers Indemnity Co. abandoned a Connecticut lawsuit Thursday against Excalibur Reinsurance Corp. over coverage under a reinsurance treaty for malpractice claims against defunct law firm LeBoeuf Lamb Green & MacRae LLP.

U.S. District Judge Janet Hall closed the short-lived case a day after Travelers notified the court it was voluntarily dismissing its Dec. 11 complaint against Excalibur.

The dispute stems from an accountants, lawyers, miscellaneous and real estate errors and omissions reinsurance treaty that covered Travelers starting in April 2001, according to the suit. Excalibur held...
