Accretive Health Settles FTC's Data Security Charges

Law360, New York (January 3, 2014, 1:25 PM EST) -- Medical billing and revenue management service provider Accretive Health Inc. has agreed to implement new security measures to protect consumers’ personal information to settle U.S. Federal Trade Commission charges that the company failed to properly safeguard such data, the FTC said Tuesday.

The agency alleged that Accretive’s inadequate data security measures unfairly exposed sensitive consumer information to the risk of theft or misuse.
